On the former Cinoco site in Molenbeek, project partner Democo is collaborating with BLAF architects and Revive to realise 79 sustainable apartments with communal spaces. A special focus is placed on sustainability and circularity, with the application of CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) and ecological materials playing a central role.

In one of the four-bedroom apartments, the stabilised compressed blocks from BC materials were used. The earth blocks are applied in this project as non-load-bearing infill masonry within the load-bearing structure of the CLT walls. Both the CLT and earth block walls will remain visible, ensuring precise execution and extra attention to detailing the connections.
