November 26, during the Day of Science, 500 motivated visitors were introduced to the living lab! They experimented hands-on with earth as a building material.
During the workshops, visitors discovered how to make their own earth blocks and how to build with rammed earth. They also participated in building a small clay brick house.
Minister Jo Brouns was also inspired by the activities of the living lab and facilitated the laying of the first block for the house built with earth blocks during the workshop.
There was a set-up of several mock-ups and prototypes of earth block masonry which are used to map the user preferences, experiences, and perceptions of the visitors.
We would like to thank all visitors and organizers for this successful day!
